The town of Baia Sprie is located in the north-west development region of Romania, at a distance of 10km east away from Baia Mare, the main city in the county.
Being placed at the south-east root of the Gutâi Mountains, Baia Sprie belongs to the category of the cities developed in the contact zone between the vast hilly creep of Transylvania and the Oriental Carpathians.
